Police say human trafficking continues to be a growing scourge in the country.
This comes as Police intercepted 40 Ethiopians in a suspected case of human trafficking at Ngwasha veterinary gate in Nata last week.
The individuals were inside an enclosed truck trailer which the police officers searched upon its arrival at the veterinary gate, believed to be in transit to south africa.
The Ministry of Defence and Security early this year said it recorded 16 cases of human trafficking in the last five years, with only one case having been completed and prosecuted by the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Police Public Relations Officer, Near Bagali says Botswana is not an exemption to Human Trafficking, however, law enforcement has increased efforts to combat the scourge.
