BCP CALLS FOR CHANGE AT DIS AS MAGOSI’S CONTRACT NEARS END

Article By: KGOMOTSO KGOSHE The Botswana Congress Party is calling for a change at the Directorate of Intelligence and Security, as Director General Peter Magosi’s contract nears its expiry on 13 October.

The BCP is urging President Duma Boko not to renew Magosi’s contract, arguing that his departure would open the way for intelligence reforms and stronger public oversight.

BCP spokesperson Olebile Machete said the party wants the DIS to operate strictly within its legal mandate, stay out of politics and rebuild public trust.
