BOARDING MASTER REMAIN BEHIND BARS.

A 57-year-old boarding master, Michael Otukile, has been denied bail by the Nata Magistrate’s Court following allegations of sexually abusing young boys at Dukwi Junior School.

Investigating Officer Kgatlhego Oteng said releasing Otukile could endanger both him and the victims, as tensions in the community continue to rise. He also confirmed that more charges may be filed.

Social worker Keemo April told the court that the victims are still traumatised and have only completed one of six recommended counselling sessions, delayed by school exams and fuel shortages in the Tutume District.

Otukile will return to court on Thursday April 24 for a status hearing.
