The Ministry of Youth, Gender, Sport and Culture, in collaboration with UNESCO, is launching a new initiative focused on the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
The project coordinator, Tefo Paya spoke to GABZ FM NEWS, highlighting the project's aim to "examine existing and future initiatives that support contemporary cultural expressions" through the title "Re-Shaping Cultural Policies for the Promotion of Fundamental Freedoms and the Diversity of Cultural Expressions."
He said this project signifies a crucial step for Botswana in its pursuit of fostering a vibrant and diverse cultural landscape.
Paya said By re-evaluating current policies and exploring new avenues, the initiative offers the potential to empower creators, promote inclusivity as well as protect fundamental freedoms.
