DEFENCE MINISTER ANNOUNCES IMMINENT ARRIVAL OF DRONES FOR CITY POLICING



Article By: Diana Motsu Minister of Defence, Kagiso Mmusi says drones intended to enhance city policing will arrive later this month.


In an exclusive interview with Gabz FM News, Mmusi explained that delays in the drones’ arrival were due to the tender process, which involves selecting suppliers through competitive bidding, as the drones are not sourced locally.


In addition to the drone deployment, the Botswana Police Service (BPS) has stationed armed officers in uniform specifically assigned to Gaborone and Francistown.


Mmusi highlighted that the City Police unit was formed to combat violent and intrusive crimes such as robberies, home invasions, street robberies, and attacks on businesses.
