The Ministry of Health has deployed 167 pharmacy professionals to health facilities across the country to improve access to essential medicines and reduce travel burdens for patients.
According to a communique from the ministry the group includes 93 pharmacy technicians and 74 pharmacists, with the rollout expected to be completed by the end of August 2025.
The deployment means more clinics — including those in areas like Boteti, Okavango, Ghanzi, Tsabong and Hukuntsi — will now have resident pharmacy staff.
The Ministry says the goal is to ensure all health facilities, especially 24-hour centres, have functional dispensaries.
