IEC ANNOUNCES MERGER OF VOTERS' ROLLS INTO UNIFIED ELECTION ROLL



Article By: Diana Motsu The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has announced the merger of all General and Supplementary Voters' Rolls into a single Election Roll. According to a communique, this  process commenced on September 5, 2024, and is aimed at streamlining the electoral process. The new Election Rolls will replace the previous General and Supplementary Rolls, which will be destroyed once the amalgamation is complete.

 

The statement further reveals that from September 13, 2024, the Election Rolls will be available for purchase and they can be inspected at the IEC’s headquarters in Gaborone, district offices, District Commissioners' offices, and Council Secretaries’ offices. Voters can also review Polling District Election Rolls at local dikgotla. In addition , the IEC is issuing duplicate voter registration cards until October 29, 2024, for those who have lost theirs further noting that duplicate  cards will not be issued on Election Day.
