ILLEGAL HEALTH PRODUCTS SEIZED IN MAUN

More than 2,000 unregistered health products have been seized in Maun during a joint enforcement operation.

Botswana Medicines Regulatory Authority (BOMRA) Director of Licensing and Enforcement Zukiswa Raditladi has warned consumers against buying unregistered products, which include prescription medicines, skin-lightening creams and sexual enhancement products.

Fifteen cases were registered, with offenders fined more than P20,000.

In an interview with Gabz FM News, Raditladi also highlighted evidence of illegal entry of some health products into Botswana, as authorities work to remove unregistered products from the market.
