P1,800 OLD AGE ALLOWANCE SET FOR 2026/2027

Government is set to increase the old age pension allowance from the current P1,400 to P1,800 at the start of the 2026/2027 financial year.

Local Government and Traditional Affairs Minister, Ketlhalefile Motshegwa, announced the adjustment over the weekend when addressing the inaugural Dikgafela Festival in Tonota.

Earlier this year, when presenting the 2025/2026 national budget, Finance Minister and Vice President, Ndaba Nkosinathi Gaolathe, reaffirmed the UDC administration’s commitment to inclusiveness and the well-being of citizens.
