Grit, determination, and unrelenting spirit defined the performance of Botswana’s motocross sensation, Kosmas Mamaloukas, as he proudly flew both the Botswana and White Star flags high at the prestigious 2025 Motocross of African Nations (MXOAN) held from 15–17 August at Donnybrook Park, Harare.

Competing in the MX2 category, Mamaloukas battled some of Africa’s finest riders and emerged with a remarkable 5th place individual finish across the continent and a strong 4th place overall for Team Botswana.

The MXOAN, sanctioned by FIM Africa, drew elite motocross talent from across the region, with national teams from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Botswana, and Zambia going head-to-head in a thrilling three-round contest.

South Africa topped the team standings with 105 points, followed by Zimbabwe (86), Uganda (59), Botswana (30), and Zambia (22). Individually, South Africa’s Jordan Van Wyk secured the top spot, while Botswana’s own Mamaloukas displayed sheer resilience, consistency, and racing craft to cement his name among the continent’s motocross elite.

A Rising Star with a Bright Future

Still only in the early stages of his senior racing career, Mamaloukas has already carved out a reputation as a fearless competitor with an unwavering work ethic. Supported by White Star, his journey embodies the grit, endurance, and hunger that fuel champions.

Speaking after the event, Mamaloukas said:

“Racing against Africa’s best was an unforgettable experience. Every lap was a test of skill and endurance, but I gave it everything for Botswana and for those who believe in me. This is just the beginning, and I’m determined to keep pushing further.

White Star’s Commitment to Talent

As a brand synonymous with strength, nourishment, and everyday champions, White Star’s partnership with Mamaloukas is a testament to its commitment to nurturing young African talent and inspiring a new generation of riders.

“Kosmas’ performance at the MXOAN showcases the power of determination and the spirit of Botswana,” said a White Star spokesperson. “We are proud to back him as he continues to grow into one of the continent’s standout motocross athletes.”

Looking Ahead

With sights now set on international circuits, including potential appearances in Europe and Australia, Mamaloukas’ journey is only beginning. His story continues to inspire young riders across Botswana and Africa to dream big, ride hard, and believe that with passion and support, anything is possible.
