Article By: Marang Gaborone Batswana are getting married later in life, with the average age for both men and women rising significantly over the past five years.
The latest Vital Statistics Report shows the average age of marriage for men rose from 40 in 2019 to 44 in 2024, while for women it increased from 35 to 38.
The figures come as some members of the public point to high living costs, delayed financial independence and changing attitudes towards marriage as possible reasons young adults are postponing major life milestones.
