Teachers Await P490,337 in Study Fee Reimbursements

About P490,337 remains outstanding in tuition fee reimbursements owed to teachers who sponsored themselves for further studies.

According to the Assistant Minister of Child Welfare and Basic Education, Justin Hunyepa, 213 teachers were approved for private studies since 2017, with 192 already reimbursed.

He says 17 of the remaining teachers are being paid in stages as they complete portions of their studies, while four are expected to be paid by August 30.

Furthermore, Hunyepa highlights that payments will be processed once the affected teachers submit the required documents. Meanwhile, progression to higher salary scales will depend on available vacancies and the normal public service recruitment and selection process.
