Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote says his group has acquired a 25 percent stake in a petroleum products pipeline network in Kenya as it expands its fuel distribution infrastructure across Africa.

Speaking at the Financial Times Africa Summit in London, Dangote said the group was also pursuing distribution projects in Djibouti, Ethiopia, Cameroon and Namibia.

He said plans to move refined fuel from Lagos to Namibia could open distribution links into Southern African markets, including Botswana and South Africa.

The expansion is aimed at improving the storage and movement of refined petroleum products across the continent.
