The High Court is expected to hear arguments today in a case challenging Botswana’s prohibition of same-sex marriage.
The case involves same sex couple Bonolo Selelo and Tsholofelo Kumile, who are challenging the refusal to register their intended marriage, arguing that the prohibition violates their constitutional rights to dignity and equal protection of the law.
LEGABIBO has joined the couple as a third applicant, while Botswana House of Prayer and Transformation, Dingwetsi Association and the Evangelical Fellowship of Botswana are respondents.
Dr Onthatile Moeti will participate as a friend of the court.
