Four Khoemacau Mine workers have died and nine people sustained serious injuries in a collision between a bus and a combi at Toteng on Monday.

Sehithwa Acting Police Commander Bathuseng Lesotho said the bus was carrying 65 passengers, while the combi had 11 people on board. All four fatalities were travelling in the combi.

Seven other passengers from the same vehicle were seriously injured, along with the bus driver and one passenger. The deceased were men aged between 30 and 37, reportedly from Maun, Toteng, Gweta and Molepolole. The injured were taken to hospital in Maun. Police investigations are ongoing.
