GABS SYSTEM FULLY OPERATIONAL FOLLOWING UPGRADE

Government Accounting and Budgeting System (GABS) is now fully operational after overcoming past technical challenges.

Minister of Communications and Technology, David Tshere, told Parliament yesterday that the system was upgraded with the help of global tech company Oracle and other government experts.

Tshere emphasized the focus on improving government service efficiency and digitalization. He also highlighted the government's efforts to bridge the digital divide, with broadband now reaching 100% of the population.

The Minister also noted that his ministry is reviewing other key communication systems to boost performance and competitiveness in line with national ICT strategies.
