OPPOSITION COUNCILORS ACCUSE F/TOWN MAYOR OF VIOLATING COUNCIL STANDING ORDER.

The Francistown City Council (FCC) opposition councilors have accused Francistown Mayor Gaone Majere of failing to implement fair representation in the council committee.

Speaking to Gabz FM News, FCC Leader of Opposition and Mophane ward councilor, Keletso Nyambe shared that Majere has blatantly disregarded section 5 of the Council Standing Order.

He further added that opposition councilors from both the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) and Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) have already presented Majere with a 7-day ultimatum to explain and address disparities in representation of councilors in committees. Failing which, they would escalate the issue to the courts.
