Winter Parliament has concluded after six weeks of debate, introducing 15 bills and passing 14 into law.
Among the key measures, the VAT Amendment Bill is designed to tighten compliance and improve revenue collection, while the Digital Services Bill establishes an authority to oversee e-government and private sector platforms.
The Cyber-security Bill strengthens protections for Botswana’s digital infrastructure, and the Cannabis Bill regulates medicinal and industrial use under a new National Cannabis Control Authority. The Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs Amendment Bill enhances enforcement against drug trafficking.
