The High Court has postponed the Bodungwane land dispute case to 26 August 2026 after both legal teams indicated they were not ready to proceed.

Justice Ranier Busang postponed the matter after lawyers representing Ruele said they were unprepared for the hearing, while counsel for the Bodungwane residents informed the court that their court documents were incomplete, with page 94 missing from the filed record.

The case centres on an eviction dispute involving 168 Bodungwane residents who are challenging the Kgatleng Land Board and others over what they describe as an unlawful eviction from land they claim has been their ancestral home for generations.

The matter will return to court on 26 August 2026.
