A Botswana Defence Force soldier accused of a gruesome triple murder has been denied bail by the Lobatse Magistrate Court.

Moagi Mokomeng faces nine charges, including murder, attempted murder, arson, and defilement, from a February incident in Kgomokasitwa.

Mokomeng pleaded for release, citing his mother’s illness—but witnesses disputed his claims, saying he’s a danger to their lives.

Investigators revealed he has already killed one witness.

The court ruled he showed no remorse and abused a military-issued weapon. Mokomeng remains in custody and returns to court May 20.
