BDP Questions USA Visa Bond Requirement for Botswana

The Botswana Democratic Party  BDP has raised concern over the United States’ decision to impose a visa bond requirement on Botswana for certain visitor visa categories.

In a statement , the  party says this move has caused confusion among Batswana and is calling for clear explanations from the government. It wants to know what prompted the U.S. decision, what discussions have taken place with U.S. officials, and what is being done to protect citizens from hardship.

The BDP is urging the Minister of International Relations, Dr. Phenyo Butale, to provide a public briefing, warning that silence risks creating uncertainty and undermining Botswana’s international reputation.
