BOBONONG DEFILEMENT

A 20-year-old Zimbabwean man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for defiling a 12-year-old girl in Bobonong.

Bobonong Police Station Commander Amos Solomon raised alarm over the rising number of defilement cases in the area.

He expressed concern about the impact on victims, many of whom fall pregnant and are forced to drop out of school.

Solomon further noted that while most offenders are over 30, cases of sexual activity among minors are also increasing.

He urged parents to be more vigilant, warning that neglect and lack of supervision put children at risk of exploitation.
