BOOT CAMP ESCAPEE RECAPTURED AFTER DRUG-DRIVEN GETAWAY.

A 27-year-old man who escaped from the Botswana Institute of Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Offenders’ (BIRRO) Boot Camp on Monday has been found and returned to the facility.

Speaking to Gabz FM News, the institute’s director, Mothei Sejakgomo, stated that the man was undergoing rehabilitation for drug abuse at the time of his escape.

He warned that such escapes can pose a danger not only to the individual, but also to the community, especially when the person is exhibits erratic behavior linked to withdrawal or relapse.

Sejakgomo explained that the man had only been at the camp for a month and is believed to have fled in search of drugs. Authorities managed to locate and return him earlier today.
