The Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has released the 2025 Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) results, revealing an overall improvement in candidate performance despite a slight decline in the number of pupils who sat for the exams.
Speaking to Gabz FM News, BEC Head of Corporate Communications Fingile Makgalemele said out of 52,766 candidates wrote the PSLE this year, girls outperformed boys across all subjects, continuing a trend seen in recent years. She noted that 99.91% of all candidates obtained a pass grade.
Makgalemele further stated that only 13 learners were unclassified, while 34 candidates received an X grade, largely attributed to absenteeism. She added that credit grades—C or better—rose to 74.11%, while Grade A performances increased to 21.42%.
