Botswana and Ghana are teaming up to break the stigma around Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) often seen as a path for academic failures.
Speaking at the national TVET Pitso, Ghana’s Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu called TVET the backbone of national development.
He urged more women into engineering and men into cosmetology to challenge gender norms.
His Botswana counterpart, Minister Prince Maele welcomed the call, highlighting new learner allowances and plans to modernize training Centres.
Both ministers say restoring dignity to skills training is critical for tackling unemployment and reshaping the future workforce.
