Divisions within the Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF) have deepened, as the faction led by Mephato Reatile announced plans to hold an Extraordinary Congress in January next year.
This follows the party’s recent congress in Serowe, which the Reatile faction claims was marred by irregularities and led to the expulsion of Reatile and Modiri Lucas, after Lawrence Ookeditse was voted in as president.
The Reatile group has since formed an Interim National Executive Committee as it prepares for its January 24th congress in Jwaneng.
Interim Publicity Officer Modiri Lucas says all upcoming activities , including delegate verification and nominations, will follow proper procedures.
