BURS SUSPENDS RESTRUCTURING PROCESS DUE TO FINANCIAL CONSTRAINTS

The Botswana Unified Revenue Service (BURS) has suspended its organisational realignment project due to financial constraints.

According to a communique seen by Gabz FM News, the decision to halt the restructuring was made after discussions with the Trade Union and as part of the suspension, retrenchment notices issued to employees have been lifted, and suspended HR processes will be reinstated with affected employees are set to receive updates by the end of the month.

BURS Board Chairperson, Dr. Lesedi Senatla, had previously emphasized that the realignment, which was originally expected to be completed by 2024, was crucial to improving the agency’s operations. However, budgetary issues have forced the process to be put on hold for now.
