Botswana’s healthcare system is under growing pressure as doctor burnout becomes a silent crisis, affecting both patient care and the well-being of medical professionals. Overworked, understaffed, and stretched thin across public hospitals, many doctors report feeling physically and emotionally exhausted.
Speaking to Gabz FM News, Dr. Lulu Tlale shared that long shifts, lack of resources, and emotional fatigue are taking a toll on practitioners. She calls for policy reforms, mental health support for healthcare workers, and improved staffing.
Furthermore, Dr Tlale highlights that without urgent intervention, doctor burnout could erode public trust and weaken Botswana’s health outcomes in the long term.
