DUO REMANDED FOR HOUSEBREAKING, THEFT AND ASSAULTING POLICE OFFICER

Article By: Charity Baitsiwe

Two Zimbabwean nationals have been remanded in custody after appearing before the Francistown Magistrate’s Court on multiple charges, including housebreaking, theft, illegal entry, and assaulting a police officer.

Mthulisi Ncube, aged 25, and Beliff Tshebukani Ngwenya, 29, are accused of a string of break-ins in Nlapkhwane village, with stolen property valued at over P13,000. They also allegedly entered the country through an ungazetted point and resisted arrest at the Ramokgwebana Border Post.

Prosecutors opposed bail, citing the suspects’ lack of legal status and fixed address in Botswana. The matter returns to court on May 8th for a status update.
