FATAL ACCIDENT

A tragic road accident near Haka, between Toteng and Komana, claimed the lives of a father and his two young children yesterday morning.

According to Acting Police District No. 5 Superintendent Molefhe Molefhe, the accident occurred when the 41-year-old father swerved to avoid a donkey on the road while driving from Toteng to Maun. In the process, his Mazda Demio collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle.

Sadly, the father and two of his children, aged eight and eleven, were pronounced dead at the scene. Two other children, who were also in the car, sustained critical injuries and were rushed to Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital in Francistown for urgent medical care.

The driver of the other vehicle, who was alone at the time of the crash, also sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Nyangabgwe Hospital.
