FRANCISTOWN WELCOMES RETURN OF PRIMARY HEALTH CARE TO LOCAL AUTHORITY.

Article By: Charity Baitsiwe

The Francistown City Council has welcomed the return of primary health care services to local government management, a move expected to improve accessibility of care in the community.

Speaking at the official ceremony, Dr. Obonetse Pitse from Primary Health Care Services in the council said the transition is a positive step for public health delivery.

He noted that under council management, services were historically more efficient, whereas administrative delays under the Ministry of Health had often hindered care for both patients and health workers.

Town Clerk Stephen Motlogelwa echoed the sentiment, saying the shift brings health care closer to the people.
