The government has promised to fast-track the construction of water projects, as demand for water supply in the southern parts of the country increases.
The construction of multibillion pula North South Carrier 2 pipeline as well as the extension of Mmamashia water treatment plant is expected to be completed by July next year.
The Mmamashia water treatment plant and reservoirs will be upgraded to treat and store more volumes to supply the southern areas.

Meanwhile Member of Parliament for Molepolole North, Oabile Regoeng appealed to government to ensure that the Molepolole Gamononyane water project is completed as promised.
The construction of the 900 million pula project has been extended at least three times.
