Health professionals are sounding the alarm over rising kidney and prostate health issues in Botswana, particularly among men and children.
They warn that stigma, low awareness, and limited access to specialized care are fueling silent suffering.
Speaking to Gabz FM News during a tour of Pholong Medical Clinic in Maun, Dr. Walter Moloi said men often ignore early signs like frequent urination, back pain, and fatigue out of fear or misinformation, delaying diagnosis and treatment.
He also revealed that children with kidney disease face even greater risks due to a lack of awareness and specialized care.
Dr. Moloi urged for targeted public education campaigns, mobile screenings, and improved training for pediatric kidney care, stressing that early detection could save lives.
