Cervical cancer continues to pose a serious threat to women’s health, with experts warning that the shortage of screening kits is worsening the situation. Gaborone West Clinic Matron and Midwife Kedisaletse Sebudubu has urged women to get screened regularly, stressing that early detection is crucial for survival.
In response, Ministry of Health Chief Public Relations Officer Dr. Christopher Nyanga said that government is working hard to ensure essential medical supplies reach healthcare facilities.
He explained that efforts to combat cervical cancer include vaccinating girls aged 9 to 13, encouraging routine screenings, and providing timely treatment for pre cancerous lesions.
