The Minister of Justice and Correctional Services Nelson Ramaotwana says Botswana’s prison laws are outdated and need urgent reform to reflect current correctional standards and human rights principles.
Speaking at a recent Pitso on correctional reform , the Minister highlighted that the country’s Prisons Act, which has been in place for 45 years, no longer meets the needs of a changing society.
