Former President and outgoing Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) leader, Mokgweetsi Masisi, has accused the Umbrella of Democratic Change (UDC) of awarding lucrative tenders as payback to their alleged financier, Zunaid Moti.
Speaking to the media yesterday, Masisi further suggested that Moti—alongside diamond giant De Beers—may have played a financial role in his removal from power. He claimed that a contract is currently being negotiated with companies linked to Moti, raising concerns over the transparency and integrity of the procurement process.
