NEW FINANCING MODEL TARGETS HOUSING DEVELOPMENT

Innovative financing models are being promoted to mobilize resources for housing and infrastructure development in Botswana.

Speaking at the launch of a property financing development initiative, Botswana Housing Corporation Chief Executive Officer Professor Selinah Busang said alternative funding mechanisms could help address financing challenges affecting housing delivery.

She says the initiative has secured funding for property projects targeting government entities and parastatals, while the funding is expected to support construction, infrastructure development and job creation.

Busang says stronger partnerships, investment mobilization and sustainable financing solutions will be important in expanding housing delivery and supporting infrastructure development across Botswana.
