Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Noah Salakae has resigned from Cabinet, citing ongoing corruption allegations and his upcoming court appearance on August 20.
Salakae says his resignation does not amount to an admission of guilt or liability, and that he wants to focus on cooperating with the legal process.
He alleges that investigations against him have been accompanied by leaks, misinformation and violations of investigative procedures.
Minister Salakae says he has fully cooperated with investigators since his residence was searched in September 2025. He described the resignation as one of the most difficult moments of his 28-year political career.
