Police will soon discontinue certifying ID documents including Omang and drivers licences.
According to Police Public Relations Officer, Dipheko Motube, the advancement of technology has allowed criminals to perfectly duplicate documents therefore making it difficult for police to determine the true authenticity of documents, and detect those that are fake.
Motube told Gabz Fm News that Fm News that officers have already stopped certifying marriage and divorce certificates, foreign documents and academic certificates.
He said the law provides for documents to be certified by commissioner of oaths at different institutions.
