President Mokgweetsi Masisi is set to deliver the State of the Nation Address (SONA) this afternoon.
The SONA will mark the start of the fifth session of the 12th Parliament, which is expected to last about six weeks.
During this period, Parliament will address various issues, including a proposal to ban corporal punishment in schools presented by Minister of Education & Skills Development Dr Douglas Letsholathebe.
The session will also include deliberations on the white paper concerning the constitution, following the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the review of the constitution conducted last year with a report submitted to the President in September 2022.
The SONA is the last one before the upcoming 2024 general elections.
