The Directorate of Intelligence and Security Services (DISS) has confirmed its ownership of Tautona Lodge, acquired for P58 million, stating it serves operational purposes.
When responding to questions from members of the Public Accounts PA yesterday, Director General Brigadier Peter Magosi clarified that while Tautona Farm is government property, the lodge itself is owned by the DISS and utilized for national security operations.
The acquisition has faced scrutiny, with concerns over its cost and purpose. The Botswana Congress Party has in the past initiated legal action, alleging that the purchase was a financial maneuver to divert public funds to private entities connected to the former ruling party.
