Tribal leaders in Botswana have been challenged to come up with initiatives to help prevent crime and promote democracy within their communities.
The call comes from the chairman of Ntlo ya Dikgosi Kgosi Puso Gaborone, who has expressed concern over the recent increase in serious crimes, especially killings, in local communities.
Gaborone challenged magosi to encourage closer relationships within their communities.
He believes that strong social bonds can help to deter crime and create a more positive environment for everyone.
In addition to crime prevention, Gaborone has also challenged the leaders to encourage their communities to register for elections.
