University of Botswana Chancellor Tebelele Seretse Encourages Women and Youth to Join Tourism Sector

University of Botswana Chancellor Tebelele Seretse, has encouraged women and young people to venture into the tourism industry, saying the sector remains largely male-dominated.
Seretse was speaking at the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Botswana Guides Association, BOGA, held in Maun.
She praised the association for empowering indigenous Batswana to participate in tourism, an industry that was previously dominated by foreigners.
Seretse said although local participation has increased over the years, women are still underrepresented and more effort is needed to ensure their inclusion.
A former Minister of Environment and Tourism, Seretse played a key role in the formation of BOGA, which continues to empower local communities within the tourism sector.
