Verbal abuse against men remains an unaddressed issue in society, as it is often shrouded in societal stigma and traditional gender norms.

In an interview with Gabz FM News, Welfare specialist Boemo Laba said that societal expectations force men to struggle in silence by discouraging them to express vulnerability or seek help. She emphasized that male suffering is a hidden facet of GBV. Further encouraging society to challenge entrenched gender stereotypes that prevent men from seeking help.

Laba also highlighted the importance of all victims of abuse receiving the support and protection they deserve.
