Young people in Gaborone say rising commodity prices are making it harder to survive, let alone plan for the future.
Speaking to Gabz FM News, youth across various sectors said their salaries barely cover essentials like food, rent, and transport—leaving little to nothing for savings or long-term goals.
Some who still live with parents admit they’re shielded from the full impact, but acknowledge many peers are struggling—and in some cases, turning to crime out of desperation.
Calls are growing for urgent economic relief and stronger support for youth livelihoods.
