In a significant step blending aviation with humanitarian efforts, Air Botswana has announced a partnership with the Airborne Lifeline Foundation to improve medical access for Botswana’s most remote communities.
The national carrier has committed to a partnership worth Three Hundred and Sixty Seven Thousand, One Hundred and Fifty Two Pula (P367, 152), which will fund six flights per month for a year. These flights will facilitate the transport of medical teams between Gaborone, Maun, and Kasane.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Air Botswana CEO Lulu Rasebotsa emphasized that access to healthcare is a fundamental human right. She stated that, as a national carrier, Air Botswana is fulfilling its responsibility to contribute to the well-being of the nation.
Rasebotsa also noted that by offering air travel support, the airline hopes to overcome logistical barriers and ensure that life-saving medical services are delivered to those who need them the most.
