Lesotho’s textile industry could offer a route for Botswana manufacturers to expand into regional and global markets.
Botswana Investment and Trade Centre Director of Investment Promotion, Gothusang Molatlhegi, says Lesotho has a strong clothing sector but relies heavily on imported fabric. Molatlhegi told Gabz fl news that Botswana producers could supply into that gap as the two countries explore ways to link their production chains.
He added that the aim is to strengthen cooperation so both countries can access larger export markets, including the United States. Further adding that local small businesses are being prepared for such opportunities through export development programmes.
