Government is advancing its sustainable transportation initiatives with the establishment of an electric vehicle assembly factory, a project laid out by the previous BDP government.
According to Minister of Communications and Innovation, David Tshere, while the factory is privately owned, it has been rented by the government to support the assembly of electric vehicles as part of the national e-Mobility program.
The Minister highlighted that BITRI has been tasked with managing the e-Mobility project, aiming to reduce the country's carbon footprint while promoting cleaner, more sustainable transportation options. Further noting that the fleet includes 33 buses and 20 SUVs.
