The Botswana Doctors Union says talks with the Government over emergency call compensation have broken down.
BDU President Kefilwe Selema told Gabz FM News that all formal talks ended on May 16th without agreement. Selema accused the Government of ignoring doctors’ labour rights under the Employment Act.
He said that starting yesterday, doctors will limit emergency calls to one per month.
Selema added that expecting 24-hour standby without pay is not sustainable, not lawful, and not humane.
