The Gaborone City Council is exploring partnerships with private businesses to redevelop abandoned “ghost houses” across the city.

Speaking exclusively to Gabz FM News, Mayor Oarabile Motlaleng said the council is considering demolishing the neglected structures and working with private entities to redevelop the land, mainly for accommodation and commercial use.

Motlaleng said a bidding process is already open for interested investors, but progress has been slowed by ongoing court cases involving some of the properties.
